Welcome back to our Encouraging Concepts Bible study series focused on the powerfully PROPHETIC picture portrayed in the Old Testament book of Daniel painted as a panoramic landscape of World History in FIVE successions “written” in ardent ADVANCE some 2,600 years ago… “The Book of Daniel: Prophecy PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE!”
The Book of Daniel: Prophecy PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE (Chapter 7: Verses 9-12)
9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. 10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. 11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. 12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time – Daniel 7:9-12
OPENING POINTS TO PONDER: Upon completion of the PROPHECIED period of the “great tribulation” promise, the “little horn” will be crushingly “cast down” by the eternal “Ancient of days” Himself. During this terrible “time” of history, a fully FAITHFUL remaining REMNANT of bold “believers“ would severely suffer pious PERSECUTION under this heinous “horn” just as these powerfully PROPHETIC passages in our “study” aptly express MUCH mayhem. Thankfully, all “they” that wholly HOLD unto the tantamount “truth” of the ONE and the ONLY true “God” Almighty WILL likewise eternally be forever – Delightfully DELIVERED!
The JUST Judgement!
This vindicating “vision” brings history to the climatic CLOSE of these tumultuous “times of the Gentiles” as promised. The coming “Kingdom” of our “Lord Jesus Christ” swiftly follows His just “judgment” upon the great PERSECUTION promoted by the licentious “little horn” and his religious RULE over the thwarted tempestuous “thrones” thronged THROUGHOUT the “nations” of these global gluttons:
I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire – Daniel 7:9
The “Ancient of Days” is none other than the glorious “God of heaven” Himself as He securely “sits” on the “throne” of His Magnificent MAJESTY mandate. And as is found throughout the Old Testament narrative, our Mighty “Lord” takes His Sovereignly sourced “seat” as the Just JUDGE and is described as the ONLY One whose grand “garment” is brightly begotten “white as snow” as an emphasis to His PURITY proclaimed. His honored “hair” is likened to “pure wool” with an emphasis on His WISDOM working. And the “fiery flame” along with wonderous “wheels” of a brilliantly “burning fire” both place an emphasis on His AUTHORITY over absolutely ALL things…
Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever. O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them. But the Lord shall endure forever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment. And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness. The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings. When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble – Psalms 9:5-12
The word of the Lord came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was there upon him. And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire… Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces. The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel. When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went. As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four. And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up. Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels. When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels – Ezekiel 1:3-4 & 15-21
And other Divine descriptions found within the “scriptures” of the New Testament concerning “God’s” powerful PRESENCE surrounding His Just “judgment” of which is incredibly identical to our PROPHETIC passage here in “Daniel” is the righteous reference to the grand “God the Son” in kind:
And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters – Revelation 1:12-15
These powerfully PROLIFIC passages PROPHETICALLY point to the firm fact that the “Father” and the “Son” though directly distinct from each other, are entirely equal in their DEITY within the transcendent Trinitarian glorious “God head” eternal! In fact, this is why “Jesus Christ” had also Sovereignly said of HIMSELF concerning His Justified “judgment” to come upon absolutely ALL mankind:
For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son – John 5:22
WHO does ALL the “judging” at the appointed timely “times” as such? It is none other than – God the SON!
Then a “fiery stream” ebbed into a righteous RIVER of frothing “fire” as it completely consumes, devastates and destroys everything. And NOW this justified “judgment” is securely “set” as the “books were opened” to corporately CONDEMN these menaces:
A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened – Daniel 7:10
And standing “before him” as they mindfully “ministered unto him” are found a “thousand thousands” and “ten thousand times ten thousand” of attentive ANGELIC hosts. Here “Daniel” utilizes the very SAME language in terms that the “Apostle John” expresses AGAIN for them, although he speaks in the Greek rather than the Hebrew and Aramaic tongues – Angelic Arsenal!
After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created – Revelation 4:1-11
BIBLICAL BACKGROUND: It is a Biblical fact that “God” Himself indeed keeps “books” on absolutely EVERYONE who has ever lived. Thus, He has the righteous record registering EVERY individual “life” lived and when His just “judgment” comes, our “Lord Jesus Christ” will personally move to “open” these befitting “books” of an ETERNAL bereavement for LOST souls:
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire – Revelation 20:11-15
WHAT is our great “God” considering during this final Great White Throne Judgment hearing for the “lost” souls HELD in horrendous “hell” fire? He is surmising a Sovereign strike “written” upon their pious page entry. WHY? Because for the true “believers” themselves, absolutely ALL of their “sins” from the past, present and future have been wonderfully WIPED away by the “blood” of the precious “Lamb of God” Himself! However, here as the “name” of the LOST souled “sinner” is nigh NOT found as such, the convicting evidence of their WORTHLESS self-righteous “works” will be justly “judged” and appropriately sentenced to an ETERNAL dooming spiritual death CONFINED in the literal “lake of fire” forever. Our great “God” Himself indeed keeps PERFECT records concerning this sordid “second death” scenario and does NOT jauntily “judge” in a whimsical fashion. Rather, He is the THRICE Holy – JUST Judge!
And in ONE of the final acts of “God’s” jury of JUSTICE will be “slain” upon the brutish “beast” of pagan Rome itself:
I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame – Daniel 7:11
Here “Daniel” has the vibrant “vision” of the satanic “little horn” of whom has “risen” from among the other “ten horns” to become a boisterous “beast” that was intimately involved in this rank REBELLION against “God” as this horrendous “horn” is utterly – DEVISTATED!
And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh – Revelation 19:19-21
And as “concerning” the unruly “rest of the beasts” of which were still ALIVE through the embodiment of the “little horn” himself…
As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time – Daniel 7:12
Perhaps these bewildered “beasts” were purposely “prolonged” for a sorted “season” of trying “time” to assemble BEYOND their own boundaries as their “dominion” too was tremendously “taken away” by our “Lord Jesus Christ” Himself and ARE thus in kind – Ultimately DESTROYED!
THEOLOGICAL THOUGHTS: Babylon, Medo-Persia and Greece have all continued in part through their successors. WHY? Because all “Gentile” powers have foolishly followed the very SAME satanic pattern! However, ALL of these berated “beasts” are eagerly embodied in this FINAL bemoaned “beast” and are thus utterly CONSUMED by our “Lord’s” fierce “flaming” fury. And after these kangaroo “kingdoms” during the tempestuous “times of the Gentiles” have ensued in their FINAL form through their FINAL ruler, the powerful PROPHESIED purposed damnation of that “beastly” brute, the “nations” of this wicked “world” are thus JUSTLY judged…
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal – Matthew 25:31-46
PROPHETIC PROMISE: The Sovereign sure “stone” that was contextually “cut out of the mountain without hands” rightly represents the ETERNAL coming “Kingdom” of which intensely INAUGURATES as a vast literal, physical, earthly ruling set “upon” the ENTIRE earth for 1000 years of which the great “God of heaven” Himself eagerly “establishes” as the torrid “times of the Gentiles” come to an abrupt END ensued…
Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure – Daniel 2:45
It is a political coming “Kingdom” to be sure and can be “studied” in great DETAIL founded throughout the Old Testament itself. It is also a physical coming “Kingdom” kingdom as “Jerusalem” will be REBUILT fully and “Israel” will be rightly RESTORED to her “land” complete. A new “temple” will be BUILT by Him. The “curse” of our great “God” will be LIFTED in its entirety and there will be an ABUNDANCE of fine foods found. There will be health and healing in whole. There will be a very HIGH birth rate and LONG life spans will be enjoyed as were in the “days” existing PRIOR to the Great Flood of which covered the ENTIRE planet. And the earth’s topography will itself be changed. WHY? Because it is a LITERAL coming “Kingdom” built completely BY none other than the Sovereign Solid “Stone” of which was “cut out of the mountain without hands” as such:.
But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:) – Genesis 49:24
The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner – Psalms 118:22
Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste – Isaiah 28:16
And although it will certainly have a SPIRITUAL righteous reality to its nature, it is indeed a PROMISED perfected – PHYSICAL Kingdom!
And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner? – Luke 20:17
Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea. And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ – 1 Corinthians 10:1-4
The Creator “God of heaven” will ultimately DESTROY these caustic “kings” and eagerly ESTABLISH His coming “Kingdom” of which our “Lord Jesus Christ” Himself will righteously RULE and rigorously REIGN over during His Second Coming as the “scripture” powerfully proclaim – The MILLENNIAL Kingdom!

of the HISTORIC events of which will take place leading up to
the literal “time” of the SECOND awaited
physical “coming” of our loving “Lord Jesus Christ” back to the earth:
And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever – Daniel 2:44
And our SERIOUS study of these PROPHECIES will rightly REVEAL to each student of God's wonderful “Word” that the events FORETOLD some 2,600 years ago could possibly be FULFILLED in the seemingly near future…
